Decisions Made.

Well, I have decided the skin on the Play Mor is about to start coming off. That will give me access to repair any of the rotten wood and sub-structure. If I am correct, most of the leak problems are stemming from the drip edge (where the roof meets the walls). I will need to pull all the trim, windows, ports, plugs, etc. before the de-skinning can begin. I will post pictures during the progress as a step by step pictorial.  Thanks everyone for following along.

  3. YEA!!! I finally found someone who has a Playmor. I wasn't sure what kind of travel trailer I had because the title listed it as a "Play". I bought my 1971 Playmor in May and have been tearing it apart inside due to water damage in all 4 corners and down the curb side behind the upper cabinet and lower cabinet that holds the sink and stove/oven all the way down the side to the wheel well. I really don't want to pull the skin off, but looks like I am going to have to open up both ends to repair the corners. I have a blog "cindypritchettoriginals.blogspot.com" that I have just started and as soon as I get my laptop battery, I will post some pics. I do have one picture on my Facebook page, just ask to be my friend and you can see it. Mine was beige and white but was painted by last owner black & white. I am doing this work myself (I am female) and need a few questions answered. Can you help me? Hope to hear from you soon. I live in King, N.C.

  4. hi Cindy - nice to meet someone close to Virginia! We have a 1967 Play-Mor named Lucy - love her! She's also a beige and white color outside and I'd like to change that. Did some very general renovations on the inside, like make a new table and a door to close off the space where the icebox had been removed, and will be trying to upgrade the outside appearance (ugly caulking job needs to be replaced). If I can remember where the heck I stored pics of her, I'll post them. Do you know of any gatherings of vintage campers around our area?

  7. Hi! My husband and I also have a 1970 Playmor trailer, a little 10' that we just adore! We took off the skin and gutted her, and took several months putting her back together. She isn't "restored", but cute and works well for our little family (1 daughter and 2 dogs.) we are thinking of replacing the skin soon and also been looking for some new hub covers. Any experience with either?
    Thanks!!!
